Line Layout Variants – Line Item Display – SAP FICO

This tutorial demonstrates How to define line layout variants in SAP FICO or how to create line layout in SAP FI for the line item display. In the line item display, you can choose from several line layout variants. The SAP standard system contains a set of line layout variants. You can change them or create your own. To define your own variants, you have to define the following for each variant:

  • The fields for the variant, display order, and display format.
  • The display format determines whether the entire field content is displayed.
  • Name of your variant, and the column headings for the fields.
  • The name and column headings in the foreign languages in which you want to use the variant.

You can define several variants for line layout or display line items. When displaying a document, you can switch between the variants. You can define variants for individual account types or generally, for all account types. In addition to the information in the lines, you can also display other fields. The possible additional fields are already defined in the system. You can choose them from a selection screen in the display.

If you require fields other than those defaulted in the standard system, you must specify these separately by account type. In addition, you can specify the sequence of the fields on the selection screen. You place the fields that you require most often at the top of the field list. Before all of these i recommend to go through once with my previous post about G/L line item display screen.

So learn step by step and try it yourself also. For better understanding provide all the screenshot here. Hope it will be helpful of all my readers. Again I explain it before create our own line layout.

The layout is beautiful. I like the click-through option! My only suggestion would be to move the daily contributor outfits over to the side and put the newest blog post there in that featured spot instead, since it changes a little more often. Otherwise, it’s great!
