First you need to login in your WordPress admin panel. Then go to Posts » Add New or by editing an existing post or page you will get an user friendly text and visual editor like below:

For example here we want to add a link to marked word WordPress with WordPress site. For that we just select that word and create on link menu in the editor. Below image will help you for understanding.
After that popup open in your admin panel just fill up the destination url also you can create or add link with your previous post from here. Steps will marked in the below image.
You also have the option to check the box next to Open link in a new tab option. This will open the link in a new browser tab. It’s recommended that you use this option if you are linking to an external site.
How to Add Link in WordPress Text Widgets
Creating a link in HTML is very simple with anchor tag. Take a look at the following example.
It will now show Click4Knowledge linked to click4knowledge.com.
The href tag is where you add the URL for your destination. Make sure to add http:// before the domain or path.
In between the anchor tags, you can add any text that you want to link, in our example we used Click4Knowledge.

How to Add Link in WordPress Navigation Menus
Do you want to add links in your site’s navigation menu or add custom link with a menu? WordPress comes with an effective menu editor which allows you to create and manage navigation menus on your WordPress site.
Simply go to Appearance » Menus page. If you don’t have a navigation menu setup, then you can create one by entering a menu name.

Many experts bloggers including me recommend adding a nofollow tag with links pointing to external websites. It improves your SEO score and protects your site’s link juice.
