- Red Chilly powder: 1/4 tbsp

- Black Pepper powder: 1/2 tbsp
A very delicious and tasty fish fry of West Bengal is Bhetki mach (Sheephead fish). Bhetki Fish Fry recipe is a delicious Continental recipe served as a Snack. Serve with mustard sauce. Usually serve as a starter for a Bengali full course meal or evening tea-time snacks. Bhetki fish is one of the Bengals hot favourite fish, I must say after Hilsha fish. Ofcourse pomfret fish is also have its own place of Bengali’s heart.

Wash and clean bhetki fillets and pat dry with tissue paper. From 600 gms of bhetki fish(flesh without bones) make 12 to 14 pieces of fillets(flat slice).
Make a paste of onions, ginger, garlic and green chillies keep it aside. Marinate fish fillets with lemon juice and salt and black pepper powder, keep it on the refrigerator for one hour. Then add ginger garlic paste to marinated fish.Keep it for another one hour. You can add chopped coriander leaves on the marinated fillets.
In bowl mix 3 eggs.cornflour, 1/2tbsp salt, and 1/4 red chilly powder. Mix it properly. Dip the marinated fillets in the egg-corn flour mixture. Spread the powdered bread crumbs over a flat and coat properly the marinated fish with the powder and give the fillet the desired shape. Keep the fish pieces in freeze for an hour to set.
Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Dip the fish fillets on egg, cornflour mixture. Fry it till golden brown. After frying the fish fry put it over the tissue paper to absorb the excess oil.
Bhetki fish fry recipe is ready to serve.
